Lutzville Golf Course lutzville

Opened in 1984, the Lutzville Golf Club has an interesting nine-hole parkland layout with eighteen different tees. The fairways and bayview greens are well maintained all year-round and the course 5732 metres, is classed as one of the best in the area, and a real challenge to the low handicaps.

In spring, or from July to October, you might find the course bright with wildflowers.
The course is not open on Mondays, but visitors are welcomed every other day of the week when normal golf attire is required.

There is a clubhouse and functions room and clubs are available for hire.

Lutzville in SpringThe town, originally named Vleermuijsklip, which means bat rock was named after a rocky outcrop and overhang just outside the town. This outcrop is now a national monument. The name Vleermuijsklip was later changed to Lutzville. The town was named after John Lutz, an irrigation engineer.

The impressive Sishen Saldanha railway bridge just outside Lutzville was constructed across the Olifants River on the R363. Lutzville is situated between the Atlantic Ocean on the west and the Olifants River inland.

From Cape Town on the N7 towards Clanwilliam, pass Clanwilliam and turn-off at Klawer and continue to Lutzville on the R363. In the town of Lutzville turn left at the 4-way stop and then take a left at First Street. At the T-junction turn right and the golf course is on the left hand side.
